Men's Fellowship
Church Life

The Men’s Fellowship normally meets the third Thursday during the months September – April. Meetings commence at 6.00 p.m. with a light meal. This is followed at around 6.45 p.m. by a talk given usually by a guest speaker and the evening concludes at approximately 8.00 p.m.

The year commenced with the customary meal which was followed by a short  Annual General Meeting, the AGM part of the evening did not take too long and shortly after members were treated to a very interesting talk "An ordinary life" given by Austin Branagh (our outgoing Chairman –no relation to Kenneth!!).

The second meeting held in October, was given by our own Miss Elizabeth Mc Watters who spoke eloquently on a selection of books and what they had meant to her. She also gave an insight into her acquaintance with a number of Celebrities that she had met in the course of her work. Altogether it was a meeting much appreciated by our members.

In November the guest speaker was Mr Michael Wilson. Michael is the Northern Ireland Representative of Release International and he gave us a challenging talk on the extent of persecution Christians are facing in a number of countries.

Professor Norman C., Nevin joined us in January and spoke on Christianity and Genetics both subjects on which he holds strong convictions.

We were fortunate to be invited to visit the “Music and Sonic Arts Centre” Queens University, the first and only one of it’s kind in the world. We were treated to a fascinating experience by Professor Michael Alcorn (son of Bertie and Doreen), that gave us an entirely new perspective on the world of sound.

Mr Jackie Burke gave a wonderful testimony on how God turned his life round and gave personal experience of how drugs and alcohol can completely take over an individuals life and the effect this has on their family.

Our final meeting was an afternoon “behind the Scenes” visit to UTV where members met some of the Celebrities, this was followed by a meal at Belvoir Park Golf Club.

The fellowship in this group is very good and members are loyal and dependable. Attendances vary between 15 and 22. So why not come along and see if it could be "Your Thing"?
